Investing in New Talent
26 November 2018We continue to invest in our employees’ learning and development and we’re so pleased that many of those we have trained have chosen to continue their career paths with us long after becoming qualified.
We’re particularly proud of our design engineer trainee scheme, which enables individuals to learn the skills and knowledge, and gain the experience needed to become a qualified refrigeration design engineer.
Hadyn Leggett has been with ODA for almost a year and recounts his career journey so far with ODA; “I first started with the business for a 2 week work experience placement at the Ipswich design office, where I learned the basics of computer-aided design (CAD) and the engineering processes behind refrigeration design. I found it so insightful and enjoyable that I applied for the role of CAD Operator and started my journey as a CAD Trainee. Over the year I gained new skills and knowledge until I was a fully trained level 3 CAD Operator in using Autodesk. I’ve now progressed to Applications Engineer trainee, and as part of my training, my three-year Building Services HND course at University has been funded by the company. The course will give me the knowledge needed to become a fully-fledged Applications Engineer.”
Hadyn is one of several colleagues to have followed a similar path with ODA, and our investment in skill development has continued to open doors to the design engineering discipline and the refrigeration sector as a whole.
